Tutoring: Frequently Asked Questions

What type of students do you work with?

We work with ALL types of students. We both have experience teaching both AP-level students bound for the Ivy League and special education classes for students with learning differences, plus everything in between. We offer support for students who are struggling as well as enrichment opportunities for students who are looking to be challenged.

When are sessions typically scheduled?

We both have full-time jobs as teachers and are contractually obligated until 3 or 3:30pm each day. We also aren't as young and sprightly as the students, so no sessions will run past 9pm. Sessions are available on weekday afternoons and evenings as well as weekends.  We open up our availability immensely in the summer months.

Are sessions in person or virtual?

The vast majority of individualized sessions are virtual on Zoom.

Which tutor will I be working with?

Jacklyn and Maggie review all incoming requests and determine best fit based on our own expertise and experience, schedule availability, preferred meeting time, and more. We work hard to ensure that we have the right fit for each student.

Do you offer scholarships or financial aid?

We offer a sliding scale for families who would not otherwise find tutoring accessible. This is a core pillar of our approach to this work and we welcome this opportunity to work with a diverse array of families. Please reach out to us to inquire and we would be happy to discuss!

Do you work with students on tight deadlines?

Yes! If you would like a tutoring session or essay feedback with a turnaround time of less than 72 hours, we will implement a rush fee in order to provide you the best quality feedback. Please reach out for more information.

How does the sign up process work?

Please fill out the form on our Contact Us page, and we will review your inquiry and reach out to you within 48 hours to discuss your needs!
